Dr. Evans is the Chief of Orthopedic Reconstrucion at UAMS. He trained at UAMS under Dr. Carl Nelson before 18 years of private practice in joint replacement in Denver, CO. He returned to Little Rock in 2006 to assume the practice of his friend and mentor Dr. Nelson.

Laurie O. Hughes, M.D.

Dr. Laurie Hughes, did her residency at UAMS followed by a fellowship at Campbell Clinic. As an attending surgeon at the VAMC, she specializes in surgery of the hip and knee.

Richard Nix, M.D.

Dr. Richard Nix, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, believes there is to varying degrees an athlete in everyone. An active runner and road racer, he is a veteran of many marathons and triathlons. One of his greatest joys is helping athletes of all ages return to action.

John H. Yocum, M.D.

Interest in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries led Dr. Yocum to pursue a career in orthopedics. Joint replacement surgery, including total, partial, and limited incision surgery for the hip/knee, has also been a primary interest for Dr. Yocum.
